Transform your mindset with these 23 hot girl walk podcasts

You may have heard the term “hot girl walk” and wondered what your 20-something-year-old coworkers were talking about. It’s a term coined on TikTok that encompasses (what I think) are the positive aspects of 2020-2022: exercise, getting and staying healthy, mindfulness, being intentional, normalizing and prioritizing mental health, manifestation, and positive energy. Read on to learn more about the viral hot girl walk, what it is, what it’s NOT and the best hot girl walks podcasts to listen to while you’re on your hot girl journey.

This post is all about the best podcasts to listen to while you’re on a hot girl walk

What is a ‘hot girl walk’?

Between parenting, working, and trying to keep afloat (just me?), it can be challenging to do any kind of intense exercise regularly. Enter: regularly making time to walk. You probably already know that walking in itself as a lightweight exercise has many health benefits like burning calories and stimulating digestive system. It even has some surprising benefits like curbing a sweet tooth, potentially reducing the risk of breast cancer, easing joint pain, and boosting immune function. Walks are a really easy way to kick start or get back on the health and fitness wagon, so to speak.

However, according to TikTok user Mia, who claims to be the creator and “CEO of Hot Girl Walk™,” the ‘hot girl walk’ isn’t about weight loss, it’s about “internal transformations.”

Also according to Mia, a hot girl walk needs to be:

  1. 4-miles
  2. Outside
  3. Everyday

Easy enough, right? Well, while you’re on your 4-mile walk, you should be focused on:

  1. Things you are grateful for
  2. How ‘hot’ you are (positive self-talk)
  3. Goals and things you want to achieve

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that your mind is wandering all over the place when you’re exercising or taking a walk. You’re thinking about your to-do list, laundry, the unanswered emails that are piling up, the eyebrow threading appt you need to make, the future of NFTs, whether or not the 529 you started is worth it… but that’s not the point of a hot girl walk. The point is to intentionally focus on yourself.

Benefits of the hot girl walk

Let’s pause here and acknowledge that while the term ‘hot girl walk’ is silly and if you’re like me and well beyond your 20’s, a hot TikTok trend is something you’re likely not interested in.

I get it. Beyond the laughable phrase, the point of the hot girl walk is to get your body moving outside and focus your mental energy in to positive affirmations and re-centering your mind to focus on your goals. There are so many benefits to purposefully making time to practice gratitude and proactively think about the goals you want to achieve and how you’re going to achieve them.

Focused and intentional thinking can apply to all aspects of your life – from personal relationships, career, to parenting. Now when you think of it like that, perhaps it isn’t so silly after all. Who would have thought that something as simple as a walk would be rebranded into something so strategic and fulfilling?

In a way, making time for myself creates MORE time.

The best podcasts to listen to while on a hot girl walk

Now for the real REAL talk: 4 miles every day can sound daunting and could take anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours depending on how fast you walk. Sure, I’d love to be able to get to a point where I can focus myself to only think about those three things for 1.5 hours but I’m not quite there yet.

Enter: hot girl walk podcasts.

Admittedly, I spend about 20 minutes thinking through Mia’s 3 things but after that, I’m catching up on my favorite podcasts. Hear me out: Since learning about hot girl walks, I am now very intentional about what kind of podcasts to listen to during my walk routine. I save the news/current affairs, comedy, true crime, etc podcasts for when I’m doing chores and instead, choose podcasts that inspire, educate or give me clarity. All of the podcasts below fall into the themes of self-development, motivation, mental health, and health/wellness – which I’d say embody the ‘hot girl’ ethos. These hot girl walk podcasts keep me thinking about being intentional with my health, time, and energy well beyond my time outside.

Business Podcasts

These podcasts range from big business ideas to leadership advice from entrepreneurs and executives. Whether you work for yourself or a large company, these podcasts will inspire the business side of your brain.

  • HBR IdeaCast: Weekly podcast featuring executives and leading thinkers in business and management. If you work in a corporate environment, this is a great podcast. It covers management, productivity, leaderships, and workplace EQ.
  • The $100 MBA show: This podcast is a self-proclaimed “alternative business education online” and covers practical business lessons for the real world. Another podcast similar to this that I like is Everyday MBA — another podcast that has practical and actionable advice.
  • Strictly Business: If you work in the Entertainment or Media industry (me!) then I’d recommend Variety’s Strictly Business Podcast. Each week, different media industry leaders talk about big business deals, strategy and the future of the entertainment business.
  • The Side Hustle Show: This podcast is marketed towards part-time entrepreneurs who are looking for business ideas, actionable tips to start a business, or strategies on how to turn their side hustle dreams into a growing business. This podcast talks a lot about creativity and grit which can still be inspiring even if you aren’t actively looking for a side hustle.
