If you’ve been deciding between lash serums and scouring the internet reading RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner reviews, you need to read this post. I was a true skeptic and got eyelash extensions for years… until I purchased RevitaLash advanced eyelash serum.
Lash serums and lash perms have officially hit the scene in 2022. Maybe it’s because the “clean girl” look is trending or maybe it’s the post-pandemic “don’t want to put on makeup or pants” mindset. Whatever it is, I’m into it. Anything I can do to cut down on my daily “getting ready” time and leave the house looking somewhat acceptable, I’m into.
What is RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner?
RevitaLash is a lash serum that was “developed to address the visual signs of eyelash aging and stress” and “enhances the appearance of beautiful, younger-looking, more luxurious eyelashes.” The website also mentions it “helps defend eyelashes from daily aggressors.” All that to say it’s marketed as a serum that makes lashes stronger. It isn’t a lash serum that is positioned to grow your lashes or make them longer/thicker. The RevitaLash website also says the serum has “peptides and botanicals that keep lashes soft, luxurious and healthy looking.”
The biggest thing that stood out for me when comparison shopping for lash serums was that RevitaLash was developed by Ophthalmologist Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff after his wife’s breast cancer fight left her once-lush lashes fragile and thin.
What do the RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner reviews say?
In reading through hundreds of reviews, there were a lot of similarities. The main themes:
- You have to use it every single day. Consistently.
- People start to see growth in as little as 2 weeks but it really starts to kick in at 6 weeks.
- A little goes a long way. Use a light hand with the brush (which is like a liquid eyeliner brush).
- It is a mixed bag when it comes to potential side effects (specifically itchy eyelids or eyelid discoloration)
- It’s worth the money. (I’d personally rate RevitaLash as $$$ on the lash serum price scale – which is one of the biggest reasons I hesitated to buy this particular lash serum).
Many other people called themselves former skeptics who, like me, had a hard time justifying the price.
Why I ultimately chose to try RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner:
I’ve always had stick-straight, short lashes. Eye make-up has been a burden for more than two decades of my life. Between liquid eyeliner, cake gel liner, waterproof mascaras, lengthening vs volumizing vs whatever else kind of mascara is out there, eye shadow primer for my greasy eyelids, eyeshadow that doesn’t crease… I never was very good at applying eye make up. In fact, I dreaded it. When I was in my teens, I wore thick eyeliner (I didn’t know any better!) and no mascara.
In my early 20s, I perfected the cat eye and tried nearly every mascara out on the market and some of them helped, but my lashes were so short it honestly didn’t matter what mascara I wore, the curl never held anyway. And while I tried nearly tried all the false lashes out on the market, I could never quite glue them on my eyes correctly and had to forgo them all together.
In my 30’s, I discovered lash extensions! These were a game changer for me and cut my “getting ready time” by at least 20 minutes. However, eyelash extensions are expensive and can weaken lashes over time. Eyelash extensions also are a bi-weekly time commitment to get them filled, which can take anywhere from 30mins-1hour. So if you are a working parent juggling your family, work, friendships, working out, etc… lash extension appts can be difficult to manage.
Then the pandemic hit in 2020 so I opted to stop getting eyelash extensions all together. It was the perfect time to give my lashes a break after getting extensions for so long. Then 2022 rolled around and I needed to get back to wearing clothing other than pajamas and retrain myself on how to wear makeup. With that, eye makeup quickly crept back into my life.
I’ve researched and tried a lot of different eyelash serums and conditioners including Latisse (I’d consider this higher end in terms of price and accessibility) ELF cosmetics lash serum (low end, easy to buy), and castor oil. I poured through reviews and most of them had hit or miss results. One day I came across RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner through Wendy’s Lookbook. She has been using it for years and being a loyal reader on this lash journey, I knew it was time for me to try it. Experiencing RevitaLash side effects
Some people experience side effects when using RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner including potential darkening of irises, eye sensitivity, and eyelid discoloration. These are known side effects and RevitaLash has this clearly labeled on their eyelash conditioner packaging. A handful of people also mentioned in their Nordstrom, Amazon, and Reddit reviews that they experienced this side effect as well. When I first started using the product, my lash line did turn a very faint purple color.
For reference, I experienced the same when I used Latisse a few times. I ultimately stopped before I could see any results. The discoloration was on my upper and bottom lash line and it was more of a dark maroon for me which made my eyes look bloodshot. What’s interesting is that while I did experience discoloration with RevitaLash eyelash conditioner, it was a faint purple which I don’t mind. Luckily the very faint purple went away after 2–3 days. Other than that, I didn’t have any other side effects.
My honest review of RevitaLash Advanced
Revitalash has a few different versions of the product including Revitalash Advanced Pro, and Revitalash Advanced Sensitive. I opted for the Revitalash Advanced with BioPeptin Complex as my first entry point into the Revitalash world. However, it’s also important to know that Revitalash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner isn’t sold in California via the Revitalash website but you can easily purchase it through Amazon or Nordstrom.
According to the RevitaLash website, the Advanced Eyelash Conditioner isn’t sold in California due to “a court ruling in a private lawsuit but other RevitaLash brow conditioners are available in the state. I purchased 2.0ml (which shows up as “0.11ml” on Nordstrom) which is supposed to last you approximately 4 months. I used it 1x every night starting in May. I was diligent and as mentioned above, you need to be consistent to see results and the most growth comes after 6 weeks. If you can’t tell by the pictures below, my lashes are very short and straight.
I took a few monthly progress pictures below and although my pics are blurry *sigh*, there is a difference in length and growth. I started to see a slight difference after 2 weeks and started to accelerate by 6 weeks. It’s been enough for me to quit my lash extensions and be completely content with curling my lashes and wearing volumizing waterproof mascara — THAT’S IT! I was and continue to be truly astonished by the growth.
Does RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner curl your lashes?
More recently I noticed that Revitalash has started to market its serum as a “lash lift in a bottle” which one could interpret it as the lash serum curling your lashes. I wouldn’t say this is completely accurate for me. My lashes indeed are very long by my standards, and interestingly enough, the lashes on my left eye are so long that there is a tiny microscopic crimp (not curl) at the tips.
Oddly enough, the lashes on my right eye are also long but they do not have the same curl at the ends. I’m not sure what it is that creates the slight crimp but it’s very subtle and not noticeable by others. I have to curl my lashes with an eyelash curler to curl them. Others may get the curling effect but I can’t say I did.

My RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner Review + Before and After
I tried to take some progress pictures of my lash journey. Disclaimer: I’m not wearing mascara in these pictures (except in July where I have explicitly labeled the picture “light mascara”). Some of the pictures have slightly different lighting depending on when and where I took the picture but you probably get the point.
May 2022
In the first picture, you can see how short my real lashes were before starting the lash serum. Keep in mind my lashes have always been short. I started Revitalash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner during the beginning of May every night before bed.
The second picture shows my lashes just two weeks after using the lash serum. I was very surprised to actually see some early results. Some reviews do mention seeing growth after 2 weeks but even after reading them, I didn’t want to get my hopes up.
June 2022
During the month of June, I definitely started to see my lashes growing in length. They were still somewhat sparse at this stage but the length was there. The top picture was taken during the first week of June and the second was taken towards the end of June. The lighting is different because, well, I’m not a very good photographer but we all have our strengths and weaknesses 🤷🏻♀️ The odd thing I noticed during this month was there was a small patch of hair near the corner of my right eye that wasn’t growing as quickly as the other rest of my lashes.
July 2022
By July, I was shocked. I couldn’t believe the length of my lashes. With a little mascara and tightening my upper eyelid, I was out the door. In the second picture I was wearing a lengthening mascara which gave only a subtle boost. I now wear a volumizing mascara that really boosts the look of my lashes. And oof, those bags under my eyes. 😓
August 2022
Now here we are. It’s been 4 months and I am in LOVE with the results. I am still in shock every time I curl my lashes and put on some mascara. Since the beginning of this review, I have continued to use the lash conditioner nearly every night and have probably only missed 2-3 nights –in which I put it on in the morning or as soon as I remember.
The bottom picture is an old picture of me with eyelash extensions. This was the typical size and length I would get. While my real lashes will never be as thick, curly, or long as eyelash extensions, I’m at a point where I don’t feel like I need to go back to get extensions anymore.
Does RevitaLash Advanced make your eyelashes grow?
YES, YES, YES. You need this. All of the reviews were right! Revitalash 1000% worked for me and I’m now onto my second bottle. I wish I would have taken better pictures and truthfully, that’s the only reason why I hesitated + procrastinated on writing this review. Even without mascara, I can tell a tremendous difference in length and thickness. Now I’m comfortable simply curling my lashes, putting on SPF, a lip stain and leaving the house. Maybe it’s the post-pandemic life, maybe it’s simply me getting older and NGAF but my 25-year-old self would be SHOCKED.
Would I buy RevitaLash Lash Conditioner again?
It’s been about 4 months since I’ve started and the pictures above speak for themselves. My lashes were thin and pretty much non-existent and by the end of 4 months, they are longer and I have some volume too. I’d never thought I’d see this day! I haven’t experienced the curling effect that Revitalash is pushing yet but I’m 1000% happy with this length and volume.
There have been a few different lash serums and conditioners that have come out in the last few months that I’m curious to try (eg: The Ordinary’s multi-peptide lash and brow serum) but I’m going to buy a second bottle of Revitalash to keep up and maintain the results at least 1 more time before venturing off to another.
